might be a quaker, which does have some native populations in fl, theres a group or two that live in my city. however, if he is nice enough to sit on your hand then he was most likely a pet and you should put up signs and put a thing in the lost and found in the newspaper. if no one claims it, then keep it.

Hello!

Your bird is definitely NOT a quaker. They’re smaller & have a different shade of grey/green on the chest.

My guess is this is a sharp tailed conure. The eyes, colour & beak are the same. Google sharp tail conures & compare them to yours.

Although conures require a part of their diets to be seed please don’t feed only this. A good quality species specific pellet & fruit & veg is better for them.

Also look around your area & news papers as someone may be missing this pet.

I’ll change that
Foulfredy is right. It looks like a white eyed conure.

But yes which ever it is, it IS a conure.

First I thought it was a Cuban conure, but it is a white eyed. Cubans have more red speckling.

Anyways, if you’re going to buy it food buy small parrot pellets or something, although it’s not necessary unless you’re keeping him/her if the owner won’t claim it. Seeds aren’t that healthy, but for a few days if you give him plenty of fresh food (veggies, not too much fruit, make sure it’s safe) with the seeds he should be okay. Good luck!

That parrot has an owner who is probably looking for it and missing it!!

Take it to the vet or to a shelter to have it scanned for a microchip (it’s free and takes about ten seconds). If it doesn’t have a chip, post something on craigslist and put up some signs at the golf course.

Otherwise, head to the pet store and pick up some zupreem parrot pellets. You can also feed veggies, fruits, and cooked noodles. In the long run, these birds are a very big commitment, so don’t decide to keep it on a whim! Once it gets attached to a person it is very hard on the bird to rehome it.

I don’t believe its a white eye....it definitely looks more like a Green. Green’s typically run between $250-$350, pending the raising style, breeding lines, and all that good stuff. You can’t really sex them for certain without running a DNA test, as they’re not a dimorphic species.

Well it’s hard for us to tell what the bird is. To me the bird has more white around his eyes than a green does which could make him a white eyed. You can’t sex either. Price depends on where you live. LOOK for the owner please. Regardless of what the bird is or isn’t it will be missed by it’s owner!!

There is one way you can check for yourself what bird you found. This website is very detailed in the white eyed conure pictures under it’s wings.
