you can usually find "cheap birds" on places like craigslist.com specially around the time people are starting college (like summer time) I got a pair of tiels on there for $20 when at the petstore here they are over 100 a piece... otherwise you might search the area for a breeder they are sometimes cheaper than stores but not always and then theres pet stores... some birds at petstores arent bad like parakeets here are like $20 each ... in the end theres no such thing as a cheap bird tho... case you gotta get a good cage, good food, dishes, toys etc etc GL!

Or you could do research, make sure you pick the best species of bird for you, and make sure you have everything you need with an appropriate cage before looking for a HEALTHY, FRIENDLY bird add to your family, even if it means saving up more money and taking more time looking.

Petco and craigslist birds are more likely to have health problems than those you find in a bird rescue or from a breeder. It is cheaper in the long run to pay a little extra for a healthy bird than to pay vet bills for a cheap one.

Dragongirl6 is right

My question is, why a ’cheap’ bird? Being cheap & small doesn’t mean they won’t have behavioural problems or don’t scream.

You need to research the species bird you’re interested in FIRST before finding a ’cheap’ bird. And if you don’t & end up with all kinds of complications your cheap bird could end up being very costly.

Save your money, research the bird you think you want & don’t rush into it or you’ll be very disappointed with it.

I agree with the above two posts. A cheaper bird isn’t necessarily the correct one for you or your lifestyle.

try looking in news papers...i saw an offer that said they were giving away 2 love birds and a large cage for free!!!but i didn’t get em cause i didn’t want my budgie jeolous..lol any ways the other guys are right...you need great responsibility to take careof birds and just because they are cheap ones it doesn’t mean that they are easy to take care of and stuff..think about that...
