 I feel terrible...

Yesterday started out like a usual lazy day, until my little brother (he’s 3) started yelling,"Sissy, sissy, there is a bird outside! it doesn’t have any wings!" I had no clue what he was talking about, so he lead me to the little bird. It was an amazing little new-born hatching. It’s eyes were not open, its pink skin shone, and it had absolutely no feathers. I kept on thinking, OMG OMG OMG what do I do?!?!? My dad found an abandoned bird’s nest in my backyard, so i got a large container, put the nest and the bird in there and got a lamp for heat. I have no experience on how to deal with birds, so i got some fake feathers so it could be a little bit like the real thing. i got little tiny worms and fed it to the hatching. i have been looking over the bird nonstop. It was 3:00 in the morning, and i fell asleep, i was too tired to do anything.i woke up at 10:00 am. When I came to see the bird, it passed away... I knew it’s chances of survival were very little, but i feel like its death was all my fault. I was crying like hell when it had died!

RIP

Btw, when i found the bird i was trying to find out where it had came from. There were no bird nests around, and i know it was not born on the grass. Any suggestions?

im soo sry and its not your fault...these things happen to birds every year..not all birds hachlings survive...some are born weak and can die..you should have made it alittle warmer or atleast if the bird was eating...the heavy wind could have took it down the ground far away...its not your fault and it happens every year its natural thing to happen so there are nothing to worry about.atleast it died in a warm nest or it could have died on the grass where its cold and where it has alot of cats around...soo you did great trying to help the bird and its a natural thing for weak born baby birds to die cause there are 1 out of 5 chances of a baby chick to die when born...
