Nope. Chickens lay eggs just as much whether or not they are fertilized. They usually stop laying eggs altogether by the time they reach five years of eggs, though I’ve known some to lay longer. At that point, they are pets : )

In fact, especially if your flock is small, I would recommend not getting a rooster. They tend to over breed the hens and harass them a lot.

ok well i have a flock of 5 and i think one is a boy but my chikens just turend 5and half months and they are reday laying eggs

Yep that’s pretty normal. Just keep an eye on the male and make sure he isn’t harassing the girls. If he does, you will either need to find him a new home or get more females. One male to ten females I have found works out pretty well. If it’s just a few girls they get harassed more.
