Peacocks Anyone have any suggestions for raising and caring for these lovely birds? My husband bought a pair who are kept with the chickens. The first night, the male flew away while my husband was trying to install a perch for them. The second night, she flew to the top of the coop but my husband got her down and persuaded her into the coop. She got on her perch and stayed there all night.
We heard him calling yesterday and think she was going to go find him. She had all day to do this since he was calling all day but she never responded to him. We also noticed him picking on her and figured she didn’t want him back. She has gotten used to the chickens and chases them into the coop if she gets spooked which is really cute.
Anyways, any suggestions will be very helpful. Thank You!

Peacocks How old are they? Peafowl are really beautiful birds. Are they pure Indian blues, or are they a mutation? The only thing I can offer is that if they are not being free ranged the pen needs to be large. Peafowl are big birds! If you do get the peacock back, he will need around 7 feet to clear his large tail when in display. I think your best bet would be to let them roam your land during the day and return to the coop at night. You would need to give them time to get used to the coop though, before you let them out. Good luck with them, and hopefully you do catch the peacock before something else does.

Peacocks They are a year and a half and are Pied Blues. My husband just finished extending their cage but maybe he should do even more. She flies to the top of the coop every evening and my husband convinces her to get back down and into the coop. How long do you suppose till she gets used to the coop?
We want all of our birds to be free range but a fox has taken up residence and the fox has now attracted a coyote. Any idea on how to get rid of them?
Thanks for answering!
