 Oh noooo!

What are you doing with the eggs? If you remove them it could force her to continue laying. Leave the eggs, allow her to sit on them & when the eggs are due for hatching, she will realize they won’t hatch & leave them.

The diarrhea may be stress due to laying eggs or it could be what she has eaten or drinking a large amount of water. Cockatiels generally don’t drink much. If you’re seeing her drinking water increase take her to an avian vet. If she’s has a water veg like lettuce it will cause runny poop which is usually mistaken for diarrhea.

If you’re really concerned about her health then take her straight to an avian vet as we cannot help if there is a problem.

 Oh noooo!

the pp is correct

you should lat her lay a full clutch (usually around 5 eggs)
and then let her keep them for about 12 days or so and then remove them do it right in front of her though as she will be more worried if you take her away then she come back and they are gone

 Oh noooo!

If they’re taken from her after the duration for incubation then you still run the risk of her laying more eggs.

After the duration time she won’t care about her eggs being taken away because she has lost interest, therefor there would be no worry.

That was meant to say they’re taken from her before the duration

 Oh noooo!

Thank you guys.
Well first she layed 9 eggs..after she lost intrest in them and was her normal self, i took them out, now it was only about 2 weeks later and she already has 5 more...so idk why she is laying so many eggs in this amount of time.

 Oh noooo!

How long was she sitting on them? you need to give her about 21 days before you can be certain. That’s about the normal incubation. Make sure she isn’t sitting for a couple of days before removing the eggs.

As another option you can just leave the eggs there & not touch them at all or you can replace them 1 by 1 with fake wooden eggs & leave them there.

What is her cage set out? Something in this could be triggering her like nesting material, something she’s using as a nest, mirror etc...they should be removed. You can also have her out of the cage more regularly to distract her from laying. They can lay an average of 5 to 8 eggs per clutch, that is normal.

She may just be really feeling the need to lay. Cockatiels are opportunist breeders. If the conditions are right, they will breed.

Yes that sounds like that would be it. Remove it for a while but also keep an eye on her. Some birds don’t cope if they have a fav toy removed. You can replace it with another toy but also keep an eye out that she doesn’t bond to that one too closely. Also lots of distractions to keep her mind away from the toy & wanting to breed.

 Oh noooo!

you should be careful with a a change over of toys when it comes to cockatiels, do it slowly & not too many toys because tiels aren’t generally toy birds, they rarely play with them & 99% of them usually just freak out over them. They’re chewers so give her some chew toys.

And yes remove her fav toy. You can also try re arranging her cage for a change for her. This can sometimes stop the need to breed but again same goes with too much change or too sudden. Just change a little bit at a time & monitor her reaction to the changes. Tiels can often freak out over change too.
