and you cant tell in years or anything, but you can tell how old a budgie(parakeet) is by the stripes on his head, and i believe the skin around their eyes. its been so long since ive had my budgies. my first one i got when i was younger, and i loved that bird dearly. he would follow me anywhere i went...and if i ran down the hall, he would chase after me...then when i moved back in with my mother, i didnt know about drafts and put him by the window and he got sick and died. i cried for weeks! so be good to your new found friend.  |

you can never tell exactly the age but he is very young still you can tell b/c they have those stripes up close to their cere(nose) do you know for sure male/ female? or are you just guessing? |

also i could not really tell by the pics but make sure you have perches of varying sizes so it keeps the muscles in ther legs/feet exercised and flexable |
