Wild Birds and Wandering Cats. Any thoughts?
I didn’t find feathers, but what I did find was the baby robin on the ground. He was alive and didn’t appear to be hurt. I didn’t get too close in case the mom was around. We’ll have to see what the morning brings. Hopefully he will be reunited with momma. On that note, I strongly believe that either counties or states should make stricter laws regarding cats being outside. We need to keep dogs on leashes why should cats be any different? Does anyone know any safe LEGAL ways to keep the cats away from my yard? I don’t want the cats hurt, but I definitely want them to think twice about prowling around our house |

Where I am in Australia it is illegal to do anything at all to keep a cat out of the yard, pet or stray. The only thing we’re allowed to do is contact the owner of the cat or contact CALM or a ranger & have the cat ’legally removed’. They trap the cats themselves where there are complaints about them. |

We have had neighbors in the past trap the cats and give them over to animal control, but I don’t want to do anything like that even if sometimes it is a tempting thought lol. I’ll have to see what’s legal here in the good ’ol united states >< |
