 Good first time bird

Hello everyone! I have been seriously considering getting a bird for a while now and have been doing some research. I wanted to ask all of your opinions on what a good beginner bird would be (no budgies please). What I’m looking for is something that has a good chance at learning to talk with a sweet disposition. As I’m a beginner bird owner I need something semi-easy to train that isn’t known for being nippy. Attention needs aren’t a problem. I have plenty of time for that and the bird would be out a lot with me. Evne when I wasn’t home, someone else would be. Thanks guys!! :)

Oh also...I was kind of thinking a cinammon green cheeked conure or a quaker parakeet. Do these fit the criteria I mentioned?

quakers can be sweet, but even hand raised ones can have a mean streak. have you considered cockatiels, ringneck doves, and lories? they all tend to be sweeter. the conures tend to be screamers, and lories can be loud. this is just my opinion, and every bird is different.
- good luck

i dont know that i would reccomend lories as they have a speicalized diet

as for cockatiels some talk but you really need a male as they learn to talk more i have never heard about doves talking so not sure how easy they would be to teach(or if they can)

i would say get a quaker
i have one and love him to peices he talks and is very sweet doesnt like anyone messinf with his cage but me but if you get them used to everyone messing with his cage you most likly wont have a problem

he is fine with people when he is out of his cage

here is a great queaker parrot forum

good luck
