Too small? Hi I was looking for some opinions on whether you think my new girl is too small. She is 5’4" long and 7.5" around at her biggest point. I haven’t been able to weigh her yet since we don’t have a big scale (any one have suggestions on what type of scale and were to get one?). We are thinking she is a bit skinny. Right now we are feeding her one med-large rat a week, but we are wondering if she should be eating more. Any opinions? Thanks.

Too small? from the way she looked in the picture i would say not to feed her medium rats just large, do large make a slight lump in her? if they dont i would try a jumbo, from what i can see in the picture she is about the same size as my old snake and we fed him large-jumbo so i think your snake can take a jumbo but you know your snake better than i so try it if it struggles stop.

Too small? Anytime Koa has been weighed, it has been at the vet.But I always thought this might work...just never bothered to try it: Use a rubbermaid container, and a regular digital scale. Weigh Jewel in the container, and weight the container by itself, then subtract the weight of the container. I would imagine you would have to have a good quality digital scale for this. Maybe you can ask your vet if you can just bring her in to be weighed? - (not an office visit)

Too small? just stand on a scale in your house without your snake, see how much you weigh, then hold the snake and see your combined weight, and subracted your weight from the total and you’ll have your snakes weight... then you can compare it to other snakes of that length and such...

Too small? I have tried that method, with a seven footer, and it did not work for me. She was moving around too much, and it affected the weight. Just try this & you’ll see what I mean: Stand on the scale (by yourself) then balance on one foot by extending one leg, and extending your arms....there is a significant difference between that and when you are standing still, with your arms by your side, and your feet together.
