 I CANT TELL

Breeds vary. Generally boa constrictors do not have heat pits, pythons do. They are located on the head. If you do not know alot about snakes, I suggest you do some research very quickly. Inappropriate care of snakes can result in great harm, even if unintentional. You need to learn how to take proper care of these animals. Please don’t put it off.
Good Luck.

please if you get a chance to get back to this forum and explain its characteristics to me and i will tell you what kind of snake it is!
carmelita is right except for a couple exceptions about heat pits, because rainbow boas do have heat pits. and so do emerald tree boas. check the spurs...spurs are sometimes bigger on pythons. good luck and RESEARCH!!!

Yes, that is why I say breeds vary. Rainbow Boas & Emerald Tree Boas are Boas, but not in the family "Boa Constricor".

 I CANT TELL

After reading what I just posted I thought I sounded kind of snotty. I’m sorry I didn’t mean it to sound that way. I realize you know a thousand times more about snakes than I do. I just tried to pick my words carefully when I answered because I knew about the Emerald Tree boa having heat pits. I did not know about the Rainbow boas having them though.

Yes that is a biggie, but not obvious unless you are watching them give birth.
