i have a common boa, its about 3 months old and i just wonderd how big they get full grown?

They usually grow anywhere from 4 to 12 feet. Very rarely grow to 15 feet but its not impossible

actually i have done research but i dont know what the actual size is because loads of people say different thing like some people say they get from 8ft to 14 ft but some people say different like maximun 10 ft.

Well, from what I’ve researched, sizes vary to the snake as well as how you feed them and how often. What is consistent is the male to female size ratio. Females are almost always larger than the males. Males typically reach lengths from six to eight feet, while females can be from seven to nine, but lengths over ten feet aren’t unheard of. Males, full grown, can weigh anything from around twenty to thirty five pounds depending on how he’s built, and full grown females can weigh up to as much as fifty pounds because females are naturally more heavy bodied and thickly muscled than the males. All of this information is available to you at various websites linked off of Google when you type in "Boa Constrictor" or "Boa Constrictor Care Sheet".

I am glad you have been doing research, Rayne. However, you don’t want to feed a small prey item and wait a long period of time just so their growth is stunted. that is underfeeding, and can be harmful to your snake, by not allowing proper growth and fat deposits they need to keep their internal organs from being injured.

I agree, I would never underfeed any animal. But does that mean that those are stunted lengths? (That was a sincere question, it looks sarcastic to me when actually typed out. I’m so sorry!)

They get any where from 5-10 foot. Most males will get 6-7 foot and females get 8-10. There has been a few that have reached more then 10 foot.

Reflex , I would agree with you.
Generally , I would say, Colombian BCI (common boa) reach 7 to 9 feet for males and 8 to 10 feet for females. It is not uncommon for a Female to exceed 10 feet and reach up to 12 feet long. And some males have reached 9 feet. And of course there are always going to be an extrodinary animal that gets larger but generally not.

Generally, BCC (peru, surinam, Guyana) reach 8 to 10 feet for males and 10 to 12 feet for females. Also, It is not uncommon for females to exceed 12 feet and reach up to 14 feet and the same is true for males that they can exceed 10 feet. There are no documented records of Boa Constrictor exceeding 14 feet(mabee by a few inches). Also important to note that BCC grow much slower then BCI and must be fed more conservativly to avoid regurgitation syndrome.

Also I think that it is equally important to say these are maximums, even the smaller numbers. I know of plenty well fed BCI males that never exceed 5 feet. And females that never never reach 7 feet. I know that alot of new hobbiest look at growth and over all size as a sign of good or bad health and this is simply not the case. Alot of people think that if there boa is smaller then another of the same age that it must not be eating enough or not healthy. This is not the case there are alot of things that go into the pot that determines what kind growth your boa will have and it’s eventual size. Also alot of people feed their boas just a bit too much because they think that a fast growing boa shows good health and that is also not the case. Boas that are over fed (not even talking about power feeding) generally live much shorter lives and encounter more medical problems, like fatty liver . Boas fed conservativly live longer and encounter fewer health problems. BTW the difference in age can be very large, 5 years old or less for an overfed/powerfed animal and upwards of 20+ years (some live to be 40 years old) for conservativly fed animals. Fat boas are not healthy boas.

I completely agree here with what you say. It’s not uncommon to say that a normal boa will most likely be bigger than one of the Morph varieties. Don’t ask why, because I don’t know. Through quite a few collections I have seen, I would say this is fairly accurate too, although once again, it’s not a written rule.

How longs a piece of string? I think it does vary somewhat from snake to snake although the statistics seem to quote Females at upto 12 ft and Males upto 9ft or there abouts. I guess it just depends on your snake, it’s surroundings and it’s feeding pattern. My 3 yr olds 8ft and someone in another post had a male 3 yr old at 52cm.
