 GTB QUESTIONS!!!!!!!

1. temperament: In general very docile. They are heartier than balls. I have both a hypo and normal. The hypo is a little more hyper. Buy them as babies. When buying an adult, you are relying on the previous owner’s care for the snake.

2. Cost: At shows $50 - 100 for BCI, 200 -250 for BCC. dumerals around $100
at petco $189 for BCI. They don’t normally sell the rest.

3. Tank: For starters I would go with a cheap plastic tub ei IRIS or Serilite. Put holes in it. Once you put the cover on the cage put a towel on top. That will keep the heat in. Then if you have the skill and desire build your own out of melamine. Their environment is similar to a ball just bigger for adults.

 GTB QUESTIONS!!!!!!!

First there are no GTBs. You are either talking about Morelia viridis (green tree python) or Corallus caninus Emerald tree boa. I keep the latter, but not the former, so I can only speak accurately about emeralds. If that is what you are talking about, then i’ll answer your questions.

 GTB QUESTIONS!!!!!!!

Temperment is an individual thing, however if you are looking for a "hands-on" snake emeralds are not a good choice as they really don’t like to be held. They have very specific environmental requirements that must be maintained to ensure health and longevity. Once the environmental parameters are met, they are just as hardy as any other species. For in depth
info, go to corallus.com. My website is in my profile, but is still under construction.

As far as price, you must separate the species into northerns and basins. Northerns being the most common, range from $300.00 to $750.00 on average, with a few exceptional animals up to about $2000.00. I am of coarse talking about CBB and not imported junk. Those are prices for babies. Amazon Basin Emeralds usually start around $800.00, but most of the commonly marked animals are usually between $1200.00 and $3000.00 depending on bloodlines and markings. There are animals that sell for $10K and up. $35K is the most I know that was paid for one.
