Instead of going to other forums on here and trying to find someone who knows nothing to say yes just to make you happy, you should just go back to the rainbow boa forum where you originally posted this and a few people posted a bunch of very good reason why you definitely should not even attempt it.

That’s if you even care about the well being of both these beautiful animals.

you said you wanted a simple answer so i gave you one. do you think you could breed a crested gecko with a leopard gecko? No. Even though they are both geckos, they are not anywhere near each other in life. Its like a horse breeding with a cow on a farm...

Yes, it’s still considered Hybridizing, Yellow and Green Anacondas might both be Anacondas, but still completely different snakes. Like breeding a Brazilian Rainbow Boa to a BCI, both boas, but very different.:)

Actually Rainbow Boas are Eunectes (like the Anacondas) and not under the Boa Constrictor umbrella. They are all Boas, but Boa Constrictor and Eunectes are far different. Like the Woma X Carpet, both ’Pythons’ but not both under the ’Python’ umbrella, ’theoretically’ uncrossable... until of course they proove you wrong :).

btw- I know Rainbow X Anaconda has been done, but I’ve never been able to fing a pic of that particular crossing.

This is a quote from another site. And these guys know what they are talking about.

I knew that Rainbows were the next thing down from Condas, didn’t really think about it at the time though, but it worked for an example, lol.:)

Totally, I know what you meant, just being Mr. Smart guy. :) Also, BRB aren’t the next thing down, they are both on the same branch.

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Class: Reptilia
Order: Squamata
Suborder: Serpentes
Family: Boidae
Genus: Eunectes

Both Rainbo Boas and Anacondas Sit right under that Genus branch, the next one down differentiates yellow from green annies and colombian from brazilian rainbows respectively :).

Now for BCI. Where Eunectes is on Genus, it would be Boa. We are lucky that boas’ common name is the same as their scientific.

A simple why it can’t be done for you is as others have stated. They are not related. Basically Boa is a different language meaning BIG SNAKE. The bit you need to watch out for is their true name such as Boa Constrictor Imperator, Boa Constrictor Constrictor, Python Regis, Colubrid etc etc.

Therefore a Colombian Rainbow Boa (Epicrates cenchria maurus) can’t go with a Common Boa (Boa Constrictor Imperator.

Hope this helps.
