 Para Het (PH)?

What exactly does it mean if a snake is Para Het for something? Like a Hypo PH Albino. Is that different from being Double Het or is it the same thing with different wording?

 Para Het (PH)?

A Parahet is either het for SHARP Albino OR het for Boawoman Caramel. Since you cannot tell which it is, its called a parahet and must be proven through breeding.

Thanks

 Para Het (PH)?

Yes a parahet is a byproduct of a paradigm breeding. A paradigm is 1 sharp albino gene and 1 Boawoman Caramel gene. So its offspring get one gene or the other, a parahet. You know it got one of those 2 genes. You just cant tell which one until you breed it. Boawoman (BW)Caramel and Sharp Albino share the same loci so..if that loci gets 2 sharp genes its a sharp visually..if it gets 2 BW Caramel genes its a BW caramel visually..paradigms are 1 sharp and 1 BW caramel gene which creates a visual double het. Hope this helps.

 Para Het (PH)?

No Britt, you were right. PH means possible het ...such as in the example above hypo PH albino, should mean hypo possibly het for albino. If someone lists "PH" to mean something else then they either don’t understand the lingo or are trying to pull something over on someone. :)
