Thank you for sharing with us. It makes me more aware of how handling more often is important. Going to show this to the hubby to make sure he realizes the importance of holding them more often so they arent skittish when we do take them out to clean enclosures etc! |

Even as a full grown adult, the bites really aren’t that bad. (I was bitten as a 9 year old and survived without much incident. The subsequent grounding from the snakes for a month for going into their tank without an adult hurt worse, as was the verbal lashing my stepdad got from my mom for not having a lock on the cage. Haha!) The shock is mostly the actual strike. They tend to bleed a bit, mostly because hands have a lot of small cappilaries (as does your head, which anyone whose ever shaved can tell you!) A wash with soap and water is usually all thats needed. They heal up within a day or two. |
