It is definately not something you just want to forget about.

Have you tried soaking him?

DONT PULL THE SKIN OR EYE CAP OFF YOURSELF. If you try pulling an eye cap off yourself and it’s not ready to come off, it can injure or blind your snake. Keep soaking once in a while, and if it doesn’t come off itself, maybe contact a good reptile vet to get it off.

The eye cap is the piece of the snake’s skin that covers its eye. The next time yours sheds look at the head portion of the skin and you can see the eye cap right where the eye would be. Sometimes during a shed the eye caps don’t come off. I have had this happen one time with on of my ball pythons. I tried soaking it but I didn’t get it off. It came off along with the "new" one at her next shed.

Hey max, next time you have this problem, soak him about 5 min in really warm warm, cover the top so the heat stays in and you should be able to to take his skin right off, works perfect.

By really warm water, you mean room temperature right? Keep it around 80-85 degrees. You don’t want to cook your snake.
