I believe it depends on the method.
The hemipenis can be exposed on neonates by an EXPERIENCED person. I do not think that method is used for older snakes.
I believe probing can be done at any age, but also should be done by someone with EXPERIENCE. Otherwise you can hurt your snake.
Call your vet & ask if they can do it.

usually if you have a pet store with a well estableshed rep room and staff they can either pop or prob and will not cost you anything. I would not have it probed by a pet store if they do it wrong they could damage reproductive organs
