 Ovulation

Hi there i have been breeding snakes for only 1 year now but i have owned them for about 10 years. last year all i noticed was that they start to swell up like a football right below their stomach so like mid body.also it is said that 8 out of 10 gravid females will refuse food during this period{my female ate the entire time she was gravid} another indicator might be a shange from light to dark so that their body can retain most of their heat. the best thing i could tell u is that you’ll she is ovulating when she is ovulating.

 Ovulation

If you see an ovulation, and are expecting one, you really will know if you catch it. Looks like they ate quite a good sized meal. Yes most females won’t be feeding while they are gravid, and some do. IF you feed a gravid female, you should not feed as you normally do, and use smaller prey items, the babies take up a lot of room in there, and thats really what all her energy is going to, she should not need to be fed while gravid because she should already be proper size and weight going into breeding.
