Please Help with your Knowledge ON Redtails

Hello to those of you who can help. I just bought two red tails in February and they are about 61/2 long and about 4or 5 years old. The previous owner who raised them said they had never breed before. Four weeks ago or so they were showing all the signs of what I read they would do if and when they mate. The male zig zaged over the female for quite awhile. I did at times see the tails in the air as I saw in a picture of red tails mating. For about a week they have not been doing the same things. They are still housed together however I am not sure whether they did mate or if I should remove the male. This is still a new hobby I am learning so anyone with some advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

How long have they been together? Have you seen the female ovulate? If not, you can separate them and feed them and put them together again and see if the male shows interest again. Keep introducing them until you see an ovulation or the male stops showing any signs of interest for a good few weeks.
