Emerald Tree Boa Breeding? Hey i havent been on here in quite a while, but im usually on the tarantula forum anyways so i dont know many if any of you. But I have an adult 3 year old REd Tail boa and have had him since he was young, probably around 8 months old or so. But anyways, I have found someone who is selling his two Emerlad Tree Boas, a proven breeding pair for $900.00 but the few questins i had was...
1. He houses them together, is that normal for Emerald tree boas?
2. Males is 3 years old, Female is 4... How much breeding could really be done at that age?
3. If housed together then does that mean they will breed on their own and i dont have to do anything special to breed them?
4. If any one has knowledge of these guys could you mybe give me a few tips that other internet care sheets do not mention?
Thanks guys,
Robb

Emerald Tree Boa Breeding? I would try posting this in the boa forum. Not many people come here. I have no knowledge of ETB’s so I am no help sorry. You could also try SoLa. He is very knowledgeable. He is usually on the ball python or the venomous forums.
Hope that helps.

Emerald Tree Boa Breeding? Hello there! Well before buying I would ask the seller for pics of them breeding and pics of their offspring. Normally etbs that are housed together do not breed as they get used to each others scents and pheromones. I have emerald tree boas and mine are housed seperately. I plan on breeding mine next month. There is a book called "THE GREEN TREE PYTHON AND EMERALD TREE BOA, CARE, BREEDING, AND NATURAL HISTORY" by Kirschner & Seufer Verlag and I ordered my from borders book store online. The book is pricey about $50.00 but is very informative on everything you need to know about Green Tree Pythons and Emerald Tree boas. My female is 6 years old and my male is 6 years old as well. The guy I bought mine from said they had bred before and sent me pics of her preganant and them breeding and the offspring. I also purchased a pair of proven Green Tree pythons and their breeding season started in Sept, I followed the book and they done exactly what the book said they would. The male stopped eating, the female started becoming defensive and eating like a pig, I cooled the temps a few weeks before and within a few hours of introducing the male they had locked tails. I bred them for 3 days a week for a month and the female is showing signs of being pregnant!
A few weeks of cooling before breeding and less day time light and super high humidity can induce a breeding cycle among Gtps and ETBs. I hope this helps!
Take care!
Jason
