Do Boas retain sperm? Like I know that bearded dragons do and when they give birth they will again have another clutch of eggs 20-30 days later. I know that boas give birth to live young I just want to know before I start breeding any type of boa.

They can retain sperm, but it is rare. They usually hold onto the sperm til the next year during breeding season. So another year later you may end up with a surprise clutch.

How many times a year should you breed boas? Like sand boas and rosy boas etc.

depends on how they recover from the pregnancy. Some snakes can breed nearly every year, while some require a year or two off between breedings.

surprise clutch.

I would be very surprised to find out my boa had a clutch as well seeing as how they don’t lay eggs.

But like Thyroidless said yes, they could retain sperm but it doesn’t happen often. And they only breed max once a year. They aren’t like rodent that can be bred several times a year if that’s what you are asking.
