A quiestion about traveling with a columbian boa

i was just wondering i was planing on moving and its about a 10 hour car ride it is pretty cold outside and i was thinking as long as i had him ( an adult 7ft cb) in the vehicle with the heat on it would not harm the snake. if anyone has any answers about this it would be greatly appreciated

Ok...I’ve done this before but with a 5-foot Ball Python instead.

Get a cooler and a pillow case. Fill the pillow case with 3 or 4 bags dried pinto beans. Microwave the pinto bean until they are hot (they will hold heat for a while). Put the "Heat Pack" in the cooler and cover with a towel. Put in the snake...and put the cooler into an already heated up car.

TaaDaaaa!!!

If it’s an 8-hour drive...Make sure you stop every hour or two to re-heat the pinto beans in a microwave at a gas station / convenience store.

Don’t tell them why you’re heating up the pillow-case full of pinto beans...they may not let you!

And maybe dampen the towel that you put over the heat pack so it provides some humidity too.

Let us know how it works out for you when you get there!

Most coolers are not air-tight and if you’re stopping every 1 - 2 hours to re-heat the beans...you’ll have nothing to worry about.

we made the move and all is well although i do have to say the he is a little hissy since the drive im curious is hissing a sign that bitting is next or just a bluff most of the time my wife gets really nervous when he starts hissing at her and suddenly wants me to put him back in the tank..... just curious im not too worried about getting bit although i do have to say im not to excited about the idea ......

Just their way of growling like a dog.

Some are all talk...and some mean business!

It’s different from snake to snake.
