It’s hard to tell from your pictures, but it does look like a Columbian. If you’re not seeing a lump, then the prey is either appropriate sized, or not big enough. For this snake, I’d say that mouse is just about right. I really hope you aren’t feeding live. The downsides to live far outweigh the benefits (I really can’t think of any benefits).
Hope this helps,
Sara

No, they don’t. But there are a lot of dangerous outcomes of feeding live. Not only will rats and mice tear up your snakes, but they could also have parasites, which are killed in the freezing process. Wild snakes have been through alot of generations of being exposed to these parasites and diseases, whereas your little CB (Captive Bred) Columbian Rainbow Boa probably comes from generations of snakes living in tubs. I don’t even want to go into about how rats will eat up your snakes.

Everyone has different preferences to live or frozen our first snake was only fed live and now refuses frozen and our other only eat frozen and refuses live, is it safer to feed frozen YES, Our first got attacked by a rat and it wasn’t a nice sight to see, but you also have to take into account do you want you pet hurt no matter if you are right on top watching like a hawk stuff does happen and there will be times you get a aggressive rat/mouse. Now feeding live yes it is more like the wild but you snake didn’t come from the wild it was born captive bred there immunities are not as good as a wild caught.

Seriously there are many arguments for and against live. You could say yes they eat live in the wild but also they do not live in a tub and have food given to them every week and the prey can escape and wont feel the need to attack the snake. You could say that live is good because some of the tissues and so nutrients are damages and then lost during the freezing process as the cells burst. To be honest I live in England where it is illegal to feed live but i would want to as i have had some really nasty, stinky, deformed prey items whereas if it is live you can make sure it is properly fed and hydrated. Nice snake by the way and Sra you did sound like a mafia member, how did you kill them?

Not to hijack this thread...but...

What’s to keep you from buying a couple of "pet" mice or rats and breeding them in secret to feed your snake?

Do they have "Live mouse and rats feeding Police" in the UK or what?!?!

LOL!!!

But I am seriously curious!

yea it illegal?? but yea i would just buy some "pet" mice and breed them for the snake, i mean i doubt your gonna get caught, i mean it seems like one of those things like jaywalking, its illegal but everyone dose it and gets away with it. there not going to know lol

i find grabbing them hold and hold them above your head at arms length and throwing them at the floor as hard as you can does the trick first time with little pain as poss.
