I really dont know how long Bella is exactly... she stretches the tank, so a little more then 4’ i suppose. shes tiny for an adult.

I was just wondering what material is the front of your enclosure? is it glass, acrylic, or plexiglass etc, etc, i am interested in getting one for my redtail

im not sure, plexiglass i suppose. its pretty heavy duty... doesnt bend or anything, but its not glass. its a solid cage. i regret not having lighting and a shelf installed for the extra money though.

 Finally!

I wouldn’t get this for a red tail. It is much too small and much too low, redtails like to climb, as do rainbow boas, only redtails ge tmuch bigger. Beautiful snake though.

As adults they stay on the ground mainly.

You are wrong,There is a reason they are classified as terrestrial snakes...not arboreal. You must have a small boa right?

How many huge boas have you witnessed climbing?I would bet none,I have seen pictures of larger boas climbing a little but they are just not designed for it,That’s why they stay on the ground most all the time.

 Finally!

I used to have an adult redtail.

I was just stating what I have experienced and what I have witnessed, this doesn’t have to become a "you are wrong and I am right" fight.

She’s beautiful... at the nature center (where I volunteer) there’s a nice hypomelanistic BRB named Pele (male) and he’s about 4’3", I thought he was a small adult too (even for a male) Good luck with that gorgeous snake, they’re one of my favorites all because of Pele.

Beautiful snake and in my opinion, larger rtb’s don’t like to climb. I too was told that if you put climbing things in the cage for them they will climb however, my Inga does not use her trees at all, she either stays on the ground, or climbs up to the top shelf of her enclosure to bask (it is the closest to the CHE). I think once they get heavier they don’t like to climb around - when she was smaller I’d put her in my apple tree in the summer and she’d climb but now she just latches her tail around my wrist and stays around my shoulders.

Very cool snake! I know with the pics I keep seeing I’m going to have to get one! lOL They are just so cool!

By the way I have a 6 1/2 foot rtb and he is always climbing around his cage. He loves to hang out up in the branches and is very very seldom on the ground. It all depends on the personality of the snake.
