My BRB setup. Here is some pic of my BRB setup. I have a under tank heating pad directly under a moss hide on the hot side. On the cold side I have another moss hide under the water dish. I also have a hide spot in the center of the tank. The hot side stays around 77 to 80 degrees. The humidity is around 80 to 85. I was going to get a small fountain for the hot side to create more humidity, because I heard that baby BRB need more humidity. The top of my tank is sealed with plastic except for a tiny opening for a light when my baby is being viewed. I know they don’t need a heat light because it can damage their skin. I use cypress mulch for bedding. If your wondering what I have as a background for my tank, I’m an artist so I drew a cartoon pic for the background. If you have any ideas let me know. If anyone knows some ways to get the heat up higher in my tank let me know.

My BRB setup. Looks fine but your temps are too low.
And what is your current humidity percentage?

My BRB setup. That background is really sweet. Your tank looks good, but you need a humidity of about 90-95 and like Scylla said, higher temps. I keep my BRB at about 80. Don’t get a waterfall, just get a big water bowl, so that he/she can soak in it whenever they want (some LOVE the water, mine thinks he’s a python). I think waterfalls are a waste of time and money... they’re expensive as hell and you have to clean the thing constantly, because they’re a haven for bacteria. I hope this helps you out, keep us updated on the little guy/girl :)

My BRB setup.
Thanks for the info. Your probably right about the waterfall so I’m just going to find another water bole. I think once I get a water bole on the hot side the humidity will be fine. Now I just need to figure out how to raise the temp a little.

My BRB setup. You can put two water bowls on either side of the tank, that way it’ll help with humidity and he can drink/soak out of whichever one he wants to, and it helps him thermoregulate. If you need to bring up your temps, you can get a 35 watt red heat light at petland for like $8 and it should help out a little during the day. Your nighttime temps should be about 70-75, so if you do decide to use the lamp, be sure to have it on a 12 hour cycle, on during the day, off at night. They sell timers at Lowes, Home Depot, and ACE for like $10. If you have cold nights where you are, and you notice the temps are way off, then you can leave it on during the nighttime, too.

Hay, thanks for the advice!! I’ll be sure to pick up a red heat light, and a timer before my baby arrives.

My BRB setup.
My humidity right now is around 82, but I’m about to put another water bole on the hot side that should bring it up a lot. I’ll get back to you and let you know how it goes.

My BRB setup.
Thanks!..I’ve owned a few snakes in the past. I also use to work at a pet store. I was the one who feed and took care of the snakes, so I’m not a total beginner. I never been around a BRB though. I know most of the people on here actually own them so I love the advice everyone gives. Thanks for your help.
