The middle 1/3rd or your snake is stomach (essentially). You can easily give it a prey item that is "slightly larger" than it’s girth...and give it a couple/few of these prey items in one feeding. One of the BRBs I have is almost 5-feet long and as big around as a can of "Red Bull". Her middle 1/3rd is approximately 1.5 feet long. So I will offer her small weaned rats that are about girth size that when layed end-to-end (or nose to butt) will be about 12" - 15" of weaned rats. One week she may get 2 rats...other weeks 3 rats. During the rapid growth phase of the 1st year (and often times 2ND year too) you can not really over-feed them. Their metabolism is pretty fast and they will digest their food pretty quickly (as long as your temps are correct). So...No, you are not over-feeding your CRB. I would suggest offering a little more food but that’s up to you. She looks good! |
