Welcome back to the boards.
Though seeing that picture brings up a couple of things to point out...
The tank looks very dry to me. What is the humidity at? The shed is in pieces suggesting it possibly could use more humidity. Is the cardboard box the only hide? No Damp moss? ( Or did the snake just scatter it everywhere? Har)

Don’t mind me, I’m just a mother hen at times.

In case you didn’t already know...having an adult BP (which yours looks like it is) with it’s enclosure humidity under 75% can cause severe respiratory problems and lead to it’s death.

None of us can know for sure what your snake’s humidity is...but judging from the dry substrate, dry rock, dry-looking multi-piece shed and your snake’s open mouth breathing...I would guess your humidity is dangerously low.

Just wanting to help!

Someone else can help with that, but if you want to keep it in that enclosure:

First thing- cover 75-80% of the screen top with aluminum foil, and spray warm water all over CLEAN substrate. get it good and damp. Mix it up in there til its like a well wrung out sponge. Get a spray bottle and mist daily. Maybe even when you get up and go to bed. I check my BCIs twice a day, and they only need 55-60%. Your tank should be 75-90%.

Second: Get a large water bowl. A large size ceramic dog bowl works well. Ideally, your snake should be able to fit inside of it coiled. This should be changed and washed out twice a week.

Third thing you can do is get some moss, soak it and put it under a hide box, on top of your substrate.

Fourth, if you use a ceramic heater or light up on top ( which I do as well) put the water bowl under half of the "hot spot". It will help.

Hope that helps!

That’s all very good advice from Fairy Frog Mother. I’ve done most of those same things, and I have no problems holding humidity in my 55gal. Just get something done about that screen top....it is your biggest enemy as far a humidity goes.

And humidity control in a tub in super easy. Take a small UTH, wrap it in a wash cloth to dissapate some of the heat (or have it on a thermostat), and put it under a corner of the tub. Then put of few very moist, folded up paper towels over the UTH inside the tub and close the top. You’ll have all the humidity you want in no time.

Ahh, and drill 1/4 inch holes in the sides near the top of the tub, 3-4 inches apart with a 1/4 inch bit.

I keep my BRB in a large glass cage that is sectioned into 3 parts for 3 snakes. Each is 2X2X3. It was a large glass top but I removed that and replaced it with a wooden top. With a wood top, you can drill as many holes as you like. I provide one row of holes to release just enough humidity. As for substrate I use newspaper with no problem. I leave the large water bowl half way on top of the heat tape. That causes bacteria to build more quickly but I clean the water out ever 2-3 days so its not a big deal. Never had a shed problem with any of my snakes. Goodluck with your snake.

alright well i took out all the substrate and i covered the top in aluminum foil. i put all new eco earth coconut fiber back into the aquarium. im going to leave the heat light on 24 hrs like i always do. a red heat light that sits on top. the substrate will be very damp. im going to pick up some clay pots from lowes tomorrow to use as hides unless you guys have any suggestions. and im going to mist tonight and tomorrow morning and continue that trend.

That all sounds good. I personally build small box hides for all my herps, but I do alot of carpentry and have plenty of scrap wood around. Appropriately sized pots would work just as well. Are you monitoring your humidity with digital gauges? Just asking because I don’t think I’ve seen you post your humidity %’s.

Don’t get discouraged. People everywhere poopie head about everything, but in the end its about the well-being of the snake. Its hard to tell if it is stomatitis from the pics, but it does look like there’s some swelling around the bottom jaw. It wouldn’t hurt to get that guy on some antibiotics.

Why does the forum suck when YOU post pictures of an animal in YOUR CARE that is obviously NOT being taken care of properly!

We are trying to help you by suggesting what to do (if it’s not a serious situation)...Or by telling you (urgent matters) about things that should be addressed IMMEDIATELY!!

This "forum sucks" because YOU SUCK at snake keeping?!?!

You have a twisted sense of reality! Grow up and take responsibility!

I’m sure my sisters friends are tired of hearing me give advice too...but really, their snakes which are siblings of the ones I have are being underfed and under heated or under humidified. They don’t have temp gauges or Hydrometers in the enclosures, and are shedding wrong- or have ribs showing. When I see a snake in that state, I try to educate, not blame...but I am in agreement that owners should not have a snake without looking up what the animal needs for basic care, and if you cant provide it...why do you have it?

And I hope, if people see the posts I make and see something wrong, they will be up front and give me constructive criticism so that I can be that much more educated. I’d still look it up for myself, but hey, that’s how we learn and improve, ya?

Ok...Thanks! Now this "person’s" post is understood.

******************

To Aandfsoccr04...

I’m guessing that you originally came to this website / forum because you needed advice or help on caring for your snake(s).

Well when you post pictures that show you obviously have no freakin clue what you’re doing...you won’t accept helpful advice....and you’re being completely neglectful (and borderline abusive) to your BRB...

Well....Yes, concerned people are going to say something to you!

The question is: Are you "Smart" enough and "Mature" enough to admit you were wrong (at least to yourself) and do something to correct the problems without letting your misplaced pride and ego get in the way???

So far...You haven’t! You’re acting like a spoiled little brat!

But please...Prove me wrong!

Aandfsoccr04: You obviously have some growing up to do. You have been given a lot of great information on how to set up your BRB’s enclosure properly. You were also instructed to take your snake to see a qualified herp vet, for a very good reason. Your snake clearly has something wrong with it. A respiratory infection can become deadly if not treated. Do you really want your $200 snake to die because you couldn’t get him on $30 worth of antibiotics?

Listen, grow up pal. If you can’t properly care for the animal(s) in your possession, give them up to someone who can so they don’t die.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I am sick and tired of all the posts lately about animals dieing around here due to poor husbandry. MOST of which people were forewarned about before it happened.

I’m an animal lover, a reptile fanatic. Seeing these creatures not being cared for properly is a stab to me. It pains me to see animals in such poor condition, and their owners clearly don’t give a rats as*.

Calm down...please. With a topping of your choice on top even...

He has posted here that he made some changes to make improvements. I hope he is able to get that snake to a vet in addition to those changes. Id like to see pictures of how the snake is doing now if the improvements have made a difference- hear if its gone to a vet and gotten a full check up. How is the snake doing now?

The name calling is getting old. It isnt going to do the snake any good for anyone to call anyone else names or get all defensive about it. Its hard for a lot of us to take criticism...even when it is warrented.

People who get pets are given misinformation about how to keep them all the time. It does make me sad that folks dont do more research before getting them. Heck, Im giving advice and I havent gotten mine yet- so Im still fairly inexperienced in practical skill but have obtained alot of "book knowledge" getting ready to care for one- plus 30+ years of living with other snakes. People here, including the harshest "critics" ( mabey even especially them) have helped me broaden my knowledge base, and pointed me in directions of where to look for more information. And I personally am greatful for it. Even when they get snarky. *grins* Cause I can get Snarky too.
