My rainbow boa had tape stuck to it!! I have a baby rainbow about 12 inches long. I put it in a shoebox to feed it a mouse and left it in there for half a day. When i went to go check on him he was stuck to some blue tape that was used to cover a hole so he couldn’t get out. the tape must have came loose. so i slowly tried to pull it off while soaking it in warm water and it took a very small part of his skin off exposing pink skin. My questions are...
Did i hurt my snake? should i take him to the vet? will his skin grow back? can he get an infection? i need some help please. thank you

My rainbow boa had tape stuck to it!! I wouldn’t take him to the vet just yet if it is just a very small spot. Was there any bleeding? If you’re worried about infection, you can apply of small amount of triple antibiotic ointment to the area. There is also a topical spray you could try called Malaseb....it runs around $10-$12 for a bottle if you order online...much higher if you get it through a vet. It’s chocked full of vitamin E and fatty acids for skin health, as well as anti-fungals and anti-bacterials. It does not sound like you have a serious problem on your hands, but if you could post pictures that would be more helpful.

My rainbow boa had tape stuck to it!! You’re welcome. Most likely it will heal fine and maybe leave a small scar or discolored patch of skin. Have you had your snake out to check on it much? Since they live in high humidity environments, you should be keeping an eye it, make sure it’s healing good and not getting infected.

My rainbow boa had tape stuck to it!! If it happens again try rubbing a little olive oil on the tape,i had to do it once and it worked great.
I’m sure the mouse you left in with the snake was dead right?
Jason.
