 EXTRAORDINARY!!!!!

I am sick and angry that something like this could have happened to such a creature. But if it happened because I was supposed to experience this magnificent being, than I am thankful.

OMG.....OMG.....OMG

What an unbelievable thing she is...........At first, when I opened the moist hide she hissed at me. I sat on the chair in front of the enclosure and waited for about 20 seconds. I then reached in for her head. I gently picked her up on my chest and headed for the bathroom. I placed her in the bathtub, let go of her, and she swam, and swam and swam. Rubbing her left/bad eye on the bottom of the tub. WOW......that is all I can say. She is such a Magnificent creature!!!!! I stood there in awe, watching her every movement, how she released all the air from withing her and just layed at the bottom of the tub. How she again began to swim and brought her head from beneath the water. She rested her head on the side of the tub for a few seconds.....continued to swim.....released the air inside her and rested at the bottom. I got scared that she was under for too long. So I reached in for her. She just lay there on the bottom and allowed me to rub her body. She swam so more and finally I pulled her out. Proceeded to put the ointment on her eyes and nose and took her back to her enclosure. I decided to trust her, let go of her head, and she just rested on my chest. I AM SO HAPPY!!!!! lol OMG I can’t even begin to express what am feeling.

I think she’s going to be ok.



I think her eye is looking better.....or is it my imagination and wishfull thinking???



Uma Swims.....I could not figure out how to link it, so after 15 minutes....no spaces between photo and bucket. lol (why do they make it so difficult. lol)

It’s almost like this girl so totally wants me to hold her. I held her before the bath today, did not have to hold her head at all. (I was even able to put the ointment on her eyes and nose without holding her head still.) She started moving around my arm.....smelling/tasting. She loves the water. She was in there for a long time. She was under and I was rubbing her.....when I stopped, she moved a part of her towards me. Then again, I would rub her, and when I stopped, it’s like that part I was rubbing just started following my hand. At one point, she brought her face right next to my hand. She moved away when I went to touch her, but she kept coming lcoser to me. I’m sure it’s just my imagination, but it almost seems like she wants me to touch her. She was so used to being handled, am sure it feels so familiar to her.

She ate a medium rat today. She wanted a second, but I don’t want to go too quickly on the food. She hasn’t pooped yet, and that has me a bit worried. Although when one is dehydrated one can’t poop. Hopefully soon.

Some of the old stuck shed is starting to come off. Some rubbed off in the water as I was petting her, and there is a piece stuck to the glass where she rubbed after the bath.

***Phew*** We’re getting there. lol

Another great experience tonight. She did not want to come out of her hide......she hissed and hissed and hissed, but not once did she try to bite me. lol I, again, sat on the edge of the tub and she explored everything without leaving my arms.....including my eyes, my ears, my hair, my nose, my hands, my neck. lol I could tell she wanted to leave and roam, but she was still being careful.

She tried to poop, but mostly gas. Hopefully she will be able to go soon.





Before taking her out of the hide I placed the plants in her enclosure......so that when she got back she would see them. She loved them.....she explored the tank and sat amongst all the leaves for quite a while. I guess she felt they hid her pretty well. lol
