R.I.P Ripley... Its a creature you have raised and grown with. I don’t get people who dont get upset at loosing any pet they have. But I’m wierd that way I guess.

R.I.P Ripley... I had a BRB for about 3 years, I was away for about 10 months and my wife was caring for it, When I arrived home, Diego had a retained eyecap, I took it to a vet, and he gave me all the cream and stuff to put on it, After a week and a half of treatment with the cream(gel whatever you want to call it) I took It back to the Vet, who said he wanted to keep it for the weekend. I left again the following day.
when my wife went to pick up Diego, he had died over the weekend, my wife broke into tears on the phone when she told me. From a women who never wanted snakes in the first place and it took me a year to talk her into getting a couple. She had grown pretty attached to it.... It stuck me because when I read your post my wife said almost the exact same thing about not getting upset....

R.I.P Ripley... so sorry for you loss. I too had a beautiful BRB, Spaz. I raised him, and had him for about 2 years. I went away for Christmas break, and he was under the watch of his Uncle (a good friend of mine). Long story short, he got sick, and died the day before I was supposed to return to him. Ironically I received the call just as i was finishing up his new travel bag (crushed orange velvet inside to match his coloring, with all different bike week destinations and bikey type symbols on the outside to match his personality) As you can tell, my pets are family to me, I totally understand how you feel. To preserve Spaz’s memory, he was frozen until a leather worker was found that would take a piece of the hide and stitch it into my wallet. I don’t agree with people who wear snakeskin boots, belts, etc that are from killing of these beautiful animals, but it is a nice way to memorialize a lost pet.

R.I.P Ripley... Mel.....I am so sorry for your loss.
I don’t understand how people can’t be upset when they lose a pet. Or those who say, "well, it’s just a reptile". I’m sorry ,but as JB S said, these critters become part of our family. How do you put so much into a creature/and it gives so much in return......how can one say ’oh well whatever’......
We do feel for you.

R.I.P Ripley... thanks everybody... it means a lot that you care this way... its been a few weeks now but reading these stories and remembering her makes me cry all over again... i will never get over losing her, will just get used to her being gone... the idea of having part of your snakes skin stitched into your wallet was an awesome idea... i never thought of something like that... its too late now... she buried a couple hundred miles away now... (i buried her in Florida... i now live in Georgia...)
again... THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!! (i can’t stress that enough)

R.I.P Ripley... Oh jeez... that’s really nice of you to offer that... I would take him/her in a heart beat.... I just don’t think I have the room in our new house for another snake right now... and our lease isn’t up until June... if you still have some then... please lemme know... I would love to have another brb. I miss Rip so much it’s not even funny. I know its been a few months but I still think about her all the time. I would love to see pics of this baby tho. I may be able to talk my husband into it anyway ;) (wow I think that is the first smiley I have put on here since she died...)
