Thinking about getting a new BRB

hey, I was at BHB reptiles to pick up a new breeder Ball python and a corn snake, I asked him about the BRB, but he had none in stock. He said he would have some in August and September. My mother said she would like to get one and she would help pay for it. Can somebody post some pictures of adults (male and/or female).

thanks

Let me dig up some pics to post for ya!

I would highly recommend a BRB!!

Great snakes BUT you must ensure proper husbandry from the start! They really do better in plastic tubs or a custom enclosure that hold humidity very well.

Just read up on them and don’t hesitate to ask any questions.

BEFORE you get the BRB get yourself some Moss to make a moss hide with and keep it damp.
I find using Coconut hull fiber bedding (Aka Eco Earth) works well to keep humidity up. You have to change it monthly and disinfect the tank, then rinse it really well to keep the bacteria load down, but its worth it if you are using a wooden enclosure. You will also want to make sure it is sealed so it doesnt warp.

Tubs hold humidity great and are less work to clean. There is alot to be said for something you can empty into a garbage bag then disinfect and hose down thoroughly with hot water.

I personally like the natural look, and am willing to do more work to keep it healthy for my BCIs.

Just an FYI...

I have never used moss for my BRBs.

They are now both large, healthy adults.

The moss hide is really only necessary if you use a glass tank as an enclosure because with those you’ll struggle with keeping the proper humidity.

But if you take may advice and use "Tubs" you’ll save money and never have to mess with moss!

yeah, I was planning on keeping it in a rack system using tubs. I am starting to breed ball pythons and I all ready have what used to be our library emptied out. I have some tubs in varied sizes stacked in and on each other in a pile waiting on the rack itself. I am hoping to get a female BRB. I hear that the BRB is going to be the next ball python.

Well next time I’m hoping the doctors I’m seeing will have found out what the heck is causing this pain I’m in and help me "fix it"!

I hated the fact that I was limping around all day and in a ton of pain. I am usually a lot more social and interactive than I was the day of the visit. Sorry if I was a downer!

But yes...The next visit should be awesome as well.
