where do you live? go to kingsnake.com and find out when your next local reptile show is so you dont have to pay shipping and you can probably get them for like 150 bucks or so from a good breeder insteaad of payign too much at a pet store.

BRBs need high humidity.(70-80%) Make sure you have the proper equipment for heating (80 on the hot side, 70 on the cool) and to keep the humidity up. Remember as an adult they can get 5-6 feet long, so they need an enclosure with 6 SQ feet of floor space (a 3x2 foot tank...minimum) You say you’ve had other reptiles before...but remember no heat rocks for snakes. They get really bad burns from them. (You may well already know this, but mabey someone else will need this information.)

They also need a large water dish, big enough to soak in, and plenty of hides. Moss boxes are recommended for young BRBs. Just stuff a tupperwear container loosely with damp moss. Once a week, take out the moss and soak it in clean water, then replace it. Change the moss out if it gets soiled.

Rainbows tend to be nippy as babies, but mellow down well with frequent gentle handling. ( But not for 48 hours after eating. Let em digest their food before handling)

heat rocks are bad for all reptiles because they don’t know when to get off. They burn themselves. I think it has something to do with their cold blood.

Just cut the cord to the heat rock and you can still use it.

Yup. Kind of an expensive rock though, but better than not getting any use out of it.

Im glad that I ramble then so you would be warned before your snake got injured!
