NEW RAINBOW BOA tips welcome :) They do not require UVA/B lighting, HOWEVER, they do need to know when its night and day, so you will need some sort of lighting, perhaps set on a timer to reflect the day/night cycles. Id suggest longer hours in the summer, shorter in the winter to mimic nature, but as long as theres 8-12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of dark, you should be alright. Getting a little sunlight time to time wont hurt any either.

NEW RAINBOW BOA tips welcome :) If you have an under tank heater that keeps it warm enough, just a simple Energy saving florescent bulb that’s on during the day, and off at night will do. If you need heat, a regular spot lamp is fine for during the day, and a infra red at night. Wattage depends on the size of the enclosure. I have a 4’ long tank with a 1’ square under tank heater and a 75 watt infra red that keeps my temps at 85 pretty steady for my BCIs. I move the lamp up 3 inches and it goes to about 80-82.
a side note off topic:
I do highly reccomend the investment to get a thermostat though. They are awesome in terms of shutting down heat if it gets too warm, and turning it back on when temps drop too far.
