 Woohooo!! No longer a Snake Bite Virgin! LOL

I’ve had my BRB for about 2 Months now, I handle her every night for about a 1/2 hr because I am in a Herp Society here in Washington State that does educational outreaches and I really wanted to take her to a few, show her off and teach people about them. She is about 1 yr old, just over 2ft long and is a healthy eater, never been nippy or anything.

Well we had TWO outreaches this past weekend and on Sunday (the 2nd one), I guess my BRB had had enough of the Show & Tell stuff and told me in no uncertain circumstances did she want to ever do TWO outreaches again ... She tagged me BIG TIME ... Right on the Nose !

What’s good about all this? Well, I’ve been very nervous waiting for my first bite, and guess what? It wasn’t that bad, not really painful and didn’t hurt afterward, just kind of shocking because normally she is so docile and I wasn’t expecting it at all. Now I’m not so nervous about getting bit because I now know what it feels like and what to expect.

Lesson Learned .... Only 1 outreach per weekend.

Sounds like you need another docile snake so you can switch them dependent on mood of the snake. Good luck, and welcome to the the club!

I actually have a ball python too, but he is brand new to me (less than 2 weeks) and I wasn’t sure how he would be at an outreach... want to hold him and get him used to being pet and stuff before I take him to an outreach.

Ajax tagged me tonight for the first time! I haven’t held him in quite some time, so I’m guessing that’s my fault. Good thing their teeth aren’t too big. He got me right on the palm of my hand.

Well, She hasn’t tagged me again (knocks on wood) and she is growing like a weed !!! She is shedding every 30 days like clockwork and is downing adult mice now. She is way over 3 ft long now :)
