Couple of BRB Questions for you Guru’s...
I got my BRB back in May and since I got her she has been shedding every 30-35 days like clockwork. She eats an adult mouse every 7 days like clockwork too .... BRB’s are new to me, though I have done some research on them since I got them but couldn’t find anything on shedding schedules. Is her shedding like clockwork normal? Does this mean her temps/Humidity are good and that she is healthy? From what I’ve been told, she should be just about 18 months old and is just over 3.5ft long. Does that sound normal? I’d post some pics but she won’t sit still long enough for me to get a good picture. Thanks, Anne |

At her age, she should be growing fairly rapidly, so sheds will be more frequent now than when shes older. As long as her temps and humidity are good she should be fine. You should have a thermometer ( not the stick on strips- those are only good for back up and are not very accurate) Digital prefered at the cool and hot sides of her tank, and a Hydrometer in her tank to measure humidity. |

Oh I do have thermometers .... Cool end is running just around 68-70 and the hot end fluctuates between 77 and 82 depending on if hubby has the A/C on in the room. Humidity is 95+ all the time. Once she gets bigger, will I need to lower the humidity and up the temps a little? She eats regularly (except when she is in shed) and about 3 days later she will go potty. I tried to measure her tonight, but its nearly impossible, she just won’t sit still. I am guessing over 3ft long as I had her in her feeding tub tonight and it’s 24" long and 12" wide, and she was stretched out along the edges, so that would make her at least 36". |

Temps look good. Humidity too. It I beleive the humidity can go as low as 90, but even as adults they are a tropical snake. Humidity will help her skin keep its rainbow sheen and allow her to shed more easily. Hope to see pictures as she grows! |
