 Why does she?

She’s probably still getting used to you. Right now when you reach for her, her instincts say you are a predator. But once she’s out of the cage, she most likely realizes that you aren’t going to eat her and she calms down. It’s always best to not reach for them from the front anyway. If you were that snake and you see the hand of god sweeping down on you, you’d probably want to bite it too lol! It’s best to gently stroke the body to let her know you are there and then gently pick her up. In time, she’ll recognize your scent and know that you aren’t a predator.

 Why does she?

I have also heard that they do not like it when you come at them from above. That is one of the reasons fish tanks ore not good cages,if you are using a fish tank try to get something that opens up in the front instead.I have my boa in a 100 gallon tank right now and have not had a problem but i am getting a cages by design cage anyway.
