 Couple quick questions

I just got a new red tail, after having my old one for about 2 years. They’re both doing okay, but their temps only get up to about 80 at night, 84 or so during the day. I have a heat mat for one, and a heat lamp for the other, Should I get CHE’s for both of them?

Also, The one with the heating pad has a glass pane with the mat on the bottom, astroturf on top of that, then the hide on top of that. Its a rock hide and he keeps scooting it around, should I just leave it off if he moves it? or get him out so i can re arrange it? Thanks guys.

What are you using to measure temps with? And 80 at night meaning the whole cage, one side? We need a little more info to help you out.

 Couple quick questions

Sorry, i’m using acu-rite’s probed thermometers. I was told by this forum they’re the best bang for the buck. I actually went out today and broke my bank to get a CHE for each tank, Temps are up around 87 now, and i really don’t know what else to do to get those extra 3 degrees, are they really necessary?
