 Breeding questions

i was wondering if there is any tips and tricks yall could let me know about breeding my rtb’s ive had the female for a couple of years now i adopted her from someone who wasnt taking care of her, and the male i just got the other day and i would like to breed them but im not a hundred percent sure all of the steps. if yall have any advice i would apreciate it.

First off. Quarentine. You just got the male... No telling what he may have. It is standard mandatory practice to quarentine all new anuimals from existing collections for a bare minimum of 6 months. This way, if this new snake had anything it will prevent it from effecting the rest of your collection, this is for everything from Mites to IBD.

After that, if you don’t want to spend $50 for the video, or you don’t have a tape player(I do not beleive this has been formated to DVD.) you can look on boaphile.com under information and can read his breeding article. Good info. also riobravoreptiles.com has a good breeding article as well.

with the whole quarintine thing do i need to even if the guy i got him from had him with other rtb in the same cage and none of the snakes in the cage had any mites or health problems.

Even if you bought the animal from the most reliable source in the reptile world. Being that it was housed with another individual to me makes quarentine that much more important, it makes it more likely that it could have contracted something unknown. You can never be too careful.
