Here’s my pastel bcc (true red tail) and mine was 10 times the amount of yours. I don’t think yours is a true pastel, but who really cares? Enjoy her!

oh fyi:
it’s Colombian

She looks like a pastel to me! Pastels are selective breeding of really nice normal boas to get better quality color in the offspring!! there are different strains of pastels that are more expensive and vary a little in color. But diffntly looks like one to me:)

Prices vary from BCC and BCI and I dont think a Pastel BCI would be as expensive as a Pastel BCC, thats why the price may have been so much lower. I think its a pastel comparing some of the pictures I’ve seen of pastels. Though Im just a newbie :D But it looks like one to me.

I hate to burst your bubble BooBoo, but your boa looks nothing like a BCC, pastel or not. Sorry.

Trust me on this. She has bcc on her for sure. Maybe she comes from a cross. I don’t even have to look that hard... a pure bci would have a pointier nose and be more speckled (in particular around the tail area). These days most CB Boa constrictors combine both genetics because many breeders in the past either could’t tell them apart or wouldn’t bother to separate them. No big deal, anyway. But my money is on the cross possibility (not hybrid, just subspecies cross).

This came from JimmyDavid, a member on here with alot of knowledge. After doing some research and seeing in person other bcc’s , she is a bcc.

In all fairness to booboo, it is a crappy pic and all I can tell is that it is a clean boa, with a more BCCish head, but with a more Colombian BCI body pattern, can’t tell real color, can’t see a tail but the transition from tail to body does have some BCC characteristics. Could be a BCC/BCI cross.

I really hate to sound mean and I know it’s going to come off that way, but for what it’s worth I am not trying to be. Nothing about that Boa seems BCC to me. Good chance of a mix, sure. Because that’s how most common Colombian BCI are anymore. The picture quality isn’t great but you can still see that there is no way it’s a Colombian BCC. I’ve yet to see anyone who owns one. Even the morphological structure of the boa screams BCI. Yeah the head is bigger which is a common trait in BCC, but BCC have a more "rectangular" body shape as apposed to a "round" shape which that boa has. First initial impression was a mix. Here’s a horrible photo of one of my boas. But anyone with a trained eye can tell whether it’s a BCC or BCI even with a crummy pic.

And Florida, my response was not directed to you even though I replied to your post. I’m very much in agreement with you.

Please don’t be mean guys, I’m not stating that "I know" what she is, I just WANT to know what she is. Here are pics I took yesterday while feeding her a rabbit. Maybe these pics are better quality and can help shed some light on this post:

Common Colombian BCI. Doesn’t resemble a BCC to at all.

Looks great though. Is it really that yellow?

Her coloration is very different from most bci’s I see. She is a beautiful bright yellow with the pink/salmon undertones when in bright light. Her markings are perfect and she is a sweetie. I was going to post another pic of her, but she doesn’t want to have her pic taken since she just ate a big dinner!

i could be wrong ( please correct me) but that rabit looks a bit to big for the snake to eat, i presume she ate it without problems, but i still am not sure if that is 100% safe !

.
You’re not the only one who thinks it’s too big.
