 Questions on feeding please

i might go on vacation for about a month. i have a 20 to 24 inch baby boa. but im going away like in 3 and a half months so she might become bigger then. im wonderen if she could stay with out food for a month or soo. my neighbor will spray her tank and put water while i am gone but does not want to feed her a mouse. i am going to leave a hundred watt lamp on in the summer not with the undertank heater bacause it is hot in the summer. soo please tell me wat u think about this. thanx!!

They can long periods without food. I wouldn’t worry.

I find it really un-responsible of you to think about leaving the poor thing without food for a month, sure they can handle it but it isint really taking good care of it, plus does your neighbor have any experience with snakes? because he/she might not know how much heat should be in the cage etc.

Would you want to be without food for 4 days?

If you can’t find another person in the 3 1/2 months befor you leave, to feed it one time. Then I would say, to feed it right befor you leave, that way the boa is only missing 2 or 3 meals which is nothing to worry about or make a big fuss over.

As for heat, if you are using a UTH then continue using it. Heat lamps suck humidity out of the cage. Another thing, you should have stable temperatures, whether you are using a restricted pad(built in to only reach a certain temp), rheostat(dimmer) or a thermostat it need to be controled to where you shouldn’t have to ask. By any chance are you turning the A/C off while you are gone? You should have a digital thermometer and hydrometer anyway to monitor temps and humidity.
