 Aggressive boa

I have an RTB and is about 8 months old. he gets very aggressive sometimes and i would love to keep him but i am afraid if when he gets big he will be dangerous to keep around. are there any things i can do to calm him down while he is still young.

It saddens me that you would get rid of the boa because of it’s attitude. I hate to say it but it’s a reptile. Not all of them are "puppy dog" tame. Some are born as jerks, some aren’t. Some calm down, some don’t. But nonetheless it’s a reptile. If you are worried about this you should have never got one to begin with. I’m not trying to be mean, but I am being real.
.
But to answer your questions. A lot of the time, a reptile’s behavior is reflected on the care that it is given. Describe your setup. Describe in it detail. What kind of enclosure? Substrate? How and what are you measuring temps with? And what are the temps? What’s the humidity? How many hides? Where is the cage located in your place? Is there a lot of traffic that goes by it? etc etc. All of these questions, and more, can aid in a boa’s attitude.
.
And.....Some boas are just born aggressive, and no matter what you do, it will always be that way. I’m a huge Peru boa fanatic. I own several. This particular ssp. of boa on average, tend to be the most agressive. All of them are housed in the exact same setup, same housing, temps, humidity...the works. And 2 of them are just buttheads. It doesn’t matter how much privacy I give them, or how much I try to handle them, they are just aggressive. And that’s Peru boas for you. And boas in general. Some are just genetically mapped out to be mean. But more often than not, it’s keep error that causes these aggressive behaviors.

I’ve done my research, I was fully prepared, and I never said I was going to get rid of it.

My main concern was just finding out whether this was an attitude that fades with age, we knew when we bought her that she could be a little snappy.

When we first got her, we spent a ton of time and money perfecting the setup of our boa (our posts on here did not bring a single negative comment when we were done).

So even though I detect that you are blaming me for the attitude of my snake, I now believe that it is possible that my snake may be like this for life, and I can deal with it.

I figured you’d respond negatively. I guess if you "knew" all this stuff, then why make the thread?

I was just wondering if there were any actions/methods besides handling that can calm her down.
