6’T for a BCI’s cage is overkill, pretty much. you could drop it down from 3’ even to something like 18’’.

cage looks good though.

Thanks for the compliments, I think for now I will leave it the way it is but maybe at a later date I will make it even shorter for her. I definitely agree about 6’ tall being over kill. It was my wife’s idea. But anyway thanks for everything.

Its totally fine if you wanna keep it at 3’ high, but if you lowered it a foot, heating wouldnt be as hard, thats about the only downfall.

I say that if you have the room go ahead and use it. You might want to maximize the usable space by installing some heavy duty shelves or thick tree limbs. Some creative hiding space would be nice and allow greater opportunities for thermoregulation. Well placed radiant panels should handle any heating problems. Anyway, I love me a big tank and wish I could give all of my animals their own room. Nice job by the way.

Thanks for the compliments. I am having a hard time finding tree limbs that are strong enough to hold her though so if anyone has any suggestions let me know. Again thanks to everyone.

I can tell you what I did for my monitor cages. I just walked out into the woods found a nice dead tree, cut it down and hacked off pieces I thought would work, trimmed and placed in cage. My logs are about 30’’ around and hold up my adult Blackthroat. Happy hunting.

The only problem with that is that we are in El Paso TX and there is a serious lack of big dead trees here. But thanks anyway I will keep looking online and hopeing to get lucky outside. Again thanks.

That is what I am probably gonna do. I can go to Home Depot and get wood and make reinforced shelves that will hold her weight. Well anyway I have to get prices and see what the best way to go about it is. Thanks for all your help though.

Hopefully he was talking about my cage, I don’t think there is much more you can do to yours if you still want room for your snake!! And if he was talking about my cage I agree, but after all I am still working on it.

Both of you should just ignore the kid, clearly a tool. That burm cage is a perfect example of what I was suggesting. Nice job on that. My BCI’s are all going into a similar design.

LMAO nice .. but i agree its a great looking tank, its a fairly large snake that needs a lot of room, its not like a ball python that requires a small crowded area ..
