hey guys i went to a reptile show today and got another boa hypo/pastel female redtail shes got sum amazing colors heres sum pics of her shes 2 months old



and heres sum pics of the beautiful baby corn snake i got my girlfriend its was hatched 6-25-08

You said she was a hypo/pastel? If she’s not het albino as well you won’t get any albino babies from breeding her to a het albino male.

im sorry guys i got all confused there for a min and i am waitin to set prices and if i breed her wit a 100% het for albino and then breed on of the young to a het for albino wouldnt that produce sum albinos????

If you breed her with a 100% het albino, then all the babies are going to be 50% possible het albino, meaning that 50% of the babies will actually be het albinos, and 50% will be just normals. The problem is that there’s no real way of knowing which babies are the hets and which are normals as they are all going to look the same. So there’s a 50% chance that the baby you plan on keeping to breed with the het albino male will in fact be just a normal. If she happens to be one of the hets, then when bred to a het male you get 25% albinos, 25% normals, and 50% hets, but again since you can’t tell the hets from the normals they’re known as 66% possible het albinos, meaning they have a 66% chance of being a het.

A better way to go about it would be to get an albino male. Then all of the babies would be 100%het. Then when you breed back to the albino you will make albinos and 100%hets.

I believe if you breed an albino to a hypo you will get dh snows? I could be way wrong on this so someone please correct me if I am!

Albino bred to a hypo will give you dh sunglows, albino bred to an anery gives you dh snows. Although pastel/hypo was mentioned before, and there’s a big difference between a pastel boa and a hypo boa in terms of genetics.
