Go buy a normal corn snake. That’s about your best chance at a $20 snake that might hit 4-feet.

people who put up posts like this are so foolish.. don’t buy a snake because its only $20 cause thats all you can afford. research and find something you really want and then save for it.. also even if you get a $20 cornsnake it is going to cost you around $100 minimum to get everything you need for the snake

Yup and with Boids its even more. Thermostats and humidity guages and HUUUUGE tanks that cost between 3-700 bucks ready made- substrate, bulbs and undertank heaters...whatever you end up using to insure their husbandry is right. Then theres vet bills, and 3-5 bucks per week for food.

Pets, especially exotic pets from tropical places (even captaive bred) are NOT status symbols to show off to your mates. If you want that, go for something not alive that doesnt require special care. Cause...if youre only willing to spend 20 bucks now, chances are the newness will wear off, youll become bored with it, and there will be yet another malnourished, under humidified snake that ends up with an Respirtory infection, and usually doesnt make it to a rescue in time.

Rethink your choice. Do some more research. Make sure pet ownership is for you. If not, theres all sorts of other really nifty hobbies out there.

????????? Don’t be rude dude... The question is just stupid and people still have junk to say. I thought it was pretty stupid to. I get reptiles at whole sale price because I have friends that work at the pet stores that I go to the swaps with and even at wholesale price your not going to find a redtail any cheaper then 80 dollars, maybe a ball python or corn snake, but never a redtail. And if they were willing to put themselves out there to look stupid by posting this in the redtail forum then thats what they did, and they desrve to be critisized, no need to get all upset over it.

Back to origional topic...

Yes. I got my pair for free as well. However, I know that their housing is about to cost me much more as they are at the max size for their current enclosures and now its time to upgrade. I have saved for it and now looking to get new ones ASAP.

Still, saying you’re looking for a snake, not specific on what type, not willing to pay fair market price to get it because its all you can afford...well...I think I already made my point.

You can love snakes, but it takes more than love and 20 bucks to care for them properly.

It may just be me but you do sound pretty rude, then again you can’t hear a tone of voice by reading. It doesn’t matter how long ago it was posted and how much people really care about it.
