 Wish me luck I need it bad !

My 7 ft boa got out her cage last night.
and well got into the wall and I’m thinking she’s in the attic. i looked all day she is gone.
I’m hoping she didn’t make it out side. thinking this is going to be a long week searching the foam installation. in a super hot attic ! I really messed up this time.

PLEASE If you love your snakes keep something heavy on the lid !!


also ? should i call local cop’s live in a small town maybe if she gets out side some one might find her

Eep! Sorry it got out. Calling the cops probably won’t do a whole lot of good. Most law enforcement agencies dont know much about snakes and will shoot first if they see it out. Its a rare officer who has any experience with them. If you know your local officers and are on good terms with em...mabey it wouldnt go amiss. Its usually Animal Care and Control who handles animals, not police, though.

I hope you find it soon. It will most likely go for a cool place when it gets hot and keep moving til it finds what it needs.

With all of the bad media around large snakes lately, it has people even more freaked out about these"Baby killers" *grumbles*

Dogs attack/kill/maim more children/people in a month than snakes over 20 years...yet snakes are the bad guys and dogs are "mans best friend". Go figure.

I know that sickening feeling. One of the corns I am taking care of got out...and my stomach was in knots. Thankfully he was found late that same night by one of our bookshelves, exploring.

Snakes can survive quite a while exploring about your house and such. There are lots of stories of snakes gone up to 6 months, and found...albiet a bit thinner. HOPEFULLY it wont take that long for you to find her. Keep up hope, and mabey put a nice big water bowl in the room she escaped out of with rings of cornstarch so you can see what direction she moves to and from and have clues where to look. If its hot she will most likely look for water.

I have cut huge holes in the walls looking 4 her.
Still nothing.
Then my neighbor came out and curse me out about the snake.
How could you, f this f that,
You shouldn’t have had the f ing thing anyway.
So At that point i was like I’m sorry she got out. She wont harm you
Then Finally I snapped, Look i have had this snake for 2 years and i love her.
Deal with this like it’s your dog missing. Show some compassion
People get on my nerves !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope your snake turns up. I don’t judge because I know how it feels to be judged on this forum, however, I have to wonder where all the "experts" that jumped all over me are to comment on this. Consider yourself lucky - it only adds insult to injury. I’d just look all over for her --I’ve heard to put flour on the floor and if she passes by she will move the powder but I don’t know how much good that would do in actually finding her. I;ve also heard to put food out in the usual feedng place on the usual feeding day but I don’t know how well that works either. Best of luck - hope she turns up.

Though I dont call myself an expert. Ive just done a lot of research, and Im still learnin with the help of the constructive criticism I have gotten here.

I have heard putting cornstarch ( same as the flour idea, basicly a thin powdery line) across door jams in two thin lines... Any disturbed lines will trail the direction the snake traveled... and thus can lead towards where it may be hiding. And it does vacuume up.

well nothing has worked yet.
I am sure she went out the window. after a week of looking in the wrong spot I’m sure she made it out of the yard by now.
However I’m not giving up. search will continue till she found !

i think that ur best bet is to set a trap. if your snake is on dead rats/rabbits then put a nice fresh one out there and then if she smells it she’ll come and eat then you put her back in her cage. if not on dead, then put a live rat or rabbit in a bucket that the prey cannot escape, climb or jump out, place the animal in the bucket facing upwards then wait for the snake to come and then get her.

Thats a good idea. If the container has a hole in the top that is the same size as the snake when NOT fed, once it eats, and is larger...it will not be able to get all the way back out. (assuming you feed F/T)

wow she must have gotten a few good meals cause her belly is the fattest i have ever see looks like it hurts her . Time to snake proof every thing and wow what a great ending !!!!

I will also as soon as i put her back she drank for 15min ! must have been a squirrel not the first time she’s snagged one. i shouldn’t have messed with her after she eat and drink so much i got her out cause i still in shock and she had a lot of water come out her mouth but she seems fine. did here her hissing while i was holding her not a pop so thinking she be OK she was out side ! thinking the dog grabbed her out the bushes ! since I’m living back at home with mommy (lost my job and my house)
they said i cannot keep her what a bummer. I can truly say i love this snake ! what will i do ?
