I would give the boa time to "settle in" before feeding or handling. Is it a captive bred Nic or farmed import? Is it a baby, juvenile, or adult? Juvies and adults should be established feeders, but still will need time to settle in. I give my imported babies more time to settle in then my captive bred ones. Typically I’ll give imports a good 10 days before I feed them and I only harass them to clean their enclosures and give them fresh water. I will usually give my captive bred Nics 7 days. Some Nics take a little longer to settle.... Do you know if the previous owner was feeding her f/t or live? You don’t have to feed them in a separate container (opinions vary on this). I don’t feed any of my Nics in separate containers and I very rarely get bitten. Aggressiveness in their enclosures is pretty common...if you’re lucky it will get over that in time. :) Amie |

Either way, it still needs to time to acclimate. Make sure that it has fresh water available and a place or places to hide. Amie |
