Your redtails set up! 
Hey I’m about to get a red tail and i would like to see pictures of your snakes set up...Mainly built set ups..I’m looking to build and I’m trying to get som idea and maybe tell me how much it cost you to build it pictures work grat

Here is a really good site, http://www.mccarthyboas.com/EZ_Prints.html. They have step by step plans and even materials list, right down to the screws. I varied from the plans a little, I didn’t put sliding doors on mine. I’ll try to take some pics tomorrow to post here for you. I have also started building a stand for our cage which will also serve as a cage for our beardies. Hope this helps.

Sorry. They’re not built set ups, but can still give you some ideas. The average price range of a built one I know of is between 200.00 and 450.oo USD. And that’s typically before heating and lighting is implemented and calculated.

I lucked out and just got a wooden enclosure for 40 bucks on craigslist. It needs a bit of work, but the electrical is to code, and it has a small hole on the side, too small for the snake to get out, but big enough to put chords in for thermometer, Hydrometer and probes. Woot! It has a long fixture for flourescent bulbs. ( will need to cage the light fixtures off) so Ill be able to turn on lights in the tank if I wish. It was formerly an iguana tank.

As soon as I figure out how to post pics on here, I will post some pics of my build. My enclosure is 6’x2’x2’ and it only cost me about 150 bucks to build before heating and lighting, that was the real cost, cost more than the build itself.

How is the 6X2X2 to heat? What do you use? Im plannin a Home Depot trip sooooon, and well...Im wonderin how to best get a lovely heat gradient. I have some ideas, but am hoping for other peoples perspectives on it who have wooden enclosures.

I have a 250 w che and a heat mat on one side of the cage. Holds temps and humidity pretty well.

Hey it only has a branch in it and I have to get a bigger hide for him but if you check out my last posting its I think two under this under my new boas or w.e I have them in an old jewlery boat and its works so perfect with the flexable plexy glass and all and it has two heat bulbs on the left and right and a uv in the middle completly built it I bought it off craigs list like that so it was modded easy and works so great wit the key locks and everything check it out if u like .. I became friends with the kid after I bought it n he said it was real easy to modify I love it its huge n perfect
