Update on vet visit sorry for so many post, but I just got back from the vets office. He said there are no apparent signs or an RI. He gave her an injection of Amikacin just in case there is an early stage where the signs are minute. Told me to keep an eye on her for this next week and he will call me after five days to see how she is doing. He checked her mouth and all was normal. He believes she is doing well, a bit on the slim side, but well overall. He said with her not moving around as much could be temp, or stress with the new environment. Asked about the dots of mucus I saw when I removed the shed from the nostrils, and he explained that it could have been build up from not having anywhere to go. I may try and feed her in a week or two. Thanks for your help everyone!!!

Update on vet visit Awesome. Glad she’s ok. I would probably only give her a week before feeding. But judge for yourself on how she’s behaving when a week is up. Good luck.

Update on vet visit I think a week would be good. I didn’t offer her one but when she was in her hide, I put a rat in a small, closed animal tote on the other side of the cage to see if the scent would entice her. After ten minutes, she was still in her hide. No worries, it’s the response I was expecting. She just needs to get comfortable, especially after having to be moved going to the vets today.

Update on vet visit Yeah, she’s probably still a little rattled. Just keep checking your temps and humidity and other than that, just let her chill out and get healthy. She’ll be ready to eat before you know it.

Update on vet visit Great news!
What did the vet say about the eyecaps?
and dont worry bout posting a lot. Just means the forum is more active, and more people get a chance to answer ( or correct me ;oP)
Id just wait the week too, then see if she will take the prey item. When shes settled and has gained a bit of weight, then you can try a switcharoonie to frozen/thawed.

Update on vet visit The vet said to do a bath soak using a tub and lid with holes for 30 min so it can’t escape. And then after, put in a cotton pillow case and let it move through so it can hopefully rub it off. And to do that every other day until it does. Do by chance know the type of boa this is?? BCI or BCC or ... I just like to keep records, and every bit helps. Thanks, Will

Update on vet visit Well you cant know for sure unless you know its parentage. My guess is either colombian BCI or perhaps a mexican BCC? But really there’s others who can tell better than I by looks. Most of my experience has been with Colombians.
One day I might get myself a Dumerils or Argentine...but Im good with the two I have, and the baby corn. Ha!
