Saddle count is useless and with the crossing of BCI and BCC’s out there, scale count can be misleading as well. How much did it cost? BCC are more expensive. Is it a morph? If yes, its a BCI. A scale count is the best way to know for sure, but there are breeders on here that can tell you pretty much from looking at pictures.

well they are cb born in may, and they are selling them for $40 each or $70 for two do to over crowding. Both are males. I’ll have pics by friday when I pic them up. The owner just said they were columbian red tails. And I know "columbian" is commonly used for red tails. Is there a really big difference in size??

As someone on here schooled me. Colombians are almost always BCI. Plus, if they’re 40 bucks, they’re BCI. BCC start at about 300.00. No over-crowding is going to make anyone lower the price that much. There is no such thing as "red-tail" boa. The term is used for BCC and was coined to make the BCC sound more appealing and justify to the customer to spend the extra money. What sounds better, "normal" boa, or "red-tail" boa? Which one would you be willing to shell out $300.00+ for? Red-tails refer to BCC, but its just a term to bring in money. Its either BCI or BCC, and at that price, its a BCI.

That came out sounding kind of rude. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it that way.

If they really are, that would be a good deal. I’ve seen males as low as $200.00. So I guess if someone needed to sell them, then yes, $300.00 a pair would sound right. Although I would be cautious. BCCs from good blood lines usually bring in a good price. Not that you can’t find them cheap, but compared to a normal BCI, they are expensive. Most quality line BCCs that I have looked at start at $300.00. That could change if you find a small breeder who only has one pairing and just does it as a hobby.

Wow, that’s a hell of a deal. Are you in Utah? If so, and you can see the snake in person before you buy, than yeah, that’s a good deal. I’d do it if I were there.

Yeah, I’m in Utah. Turns out the guy lives about a mile from me. I’m picking them up on Saturday. The only thing that surprised me is he has kept them in the same cage!!! I’m getting that cage, then I’ll use one of my extras. I’ll have to upgrade in a few months though. Might just build, seems a lot cheaper. Do you think those are the true BCC or BCI. It doesn’t really matter that much, I just like to keep records and don’t want to put something down if it’s the wrong thing. lol Thanks again, Will

They look like BCCs to me. If they are guyana boas, than they are BCC. The bright red tail is pretty big give away. Definitely put them in different cages. Building is cheaper if you have all the tools. If not, it may be cheaper to buy. I was going to build, but when I figured out the cost of tools... well, I ended up being able to get three nice Showcase Cages cheaper than I could build. Good luck man.

They look like Bcc’s to me too. They probably are Guyanan...
Very pretty though.
